The app is great for sports news and scores. Absolutely love it! The reason for the three star rating is that this app accumulates a ton of storage space on my phone. The last two times I've cleared the data storage on my phone it was over 10GB and 7GB. Not sure why it needs that much space or why it can't delete old data after a timeframe.

Nearly 5 years ago, I gave this app a strong 5-star, tire-pumping review. It was great. WAS. Amazing how the recent addition of an ad banner can change everything. This ad banner appears right at the top of my scores page and very often, takes a ridiculous amount of time to load, which causes the scores to load slowly. Take your slow-loading ads and stuff 'em, Yahoo. Uninstalled.

Too often we don't acknowledge the apps that just do a great job, and sustain their excellence over decades. The Yahoo Sports app has been terrific for well over 10 years, dating back to when it was Sportacular. Unlike most things on the internet, it hasn't become worse. It continues to achieve its simple goal: provide accurate, timely scores in an attractive, non-buggy app.
