About this app

Are you trying to quit smoking? If you’re finding it tough to stop, QuitNow is here to help you.

First things first: you know smoking is harmful to your body. Despite this, many people continue to smoke. So, why should you quit? When you quit smoking, you enhance the quality and longevity of your life and the lives of those around you. One effective way to prepare for a successful smoke-free journey is to download QuitNow on your phone.

QuitNow is a proven app designed to motivate you to quit smoking. It encourages you to avoid tobacco by helping you visualize yourself as a non-smoker. Quitting becomes easier when you focus on these four key areas:

šŸ—“ļø Your ex-smoker status: When you quit smoking, the spotlight should be on you. Recall the day you quit, and crunch the numbers: how many days have you been smoke-free, how much money have you saved, and how many cigarettes have you avoided?

šŸ† Achievements: your motivations to quit smoking: Just like any other task in life, quitting smoking is easier when you break it down into smaller, manageable steps. QuitNow offers you 70 goals based on the cigarettes you’ve avoided, the days since your last smoke, and the money you’ve saved. This means you can start celebrating your accomplishments right from day one.

šŸ’¬ Community: the ex-smokers' chat: When you quit smoking, it’s important to stay in non-smoking environments. QuitNow provides a chat filled with people who, like you, have bid farewell to tobacco. Surrounding yourself with non-smokers will make your journey smoother.

ā¤ļø Your health as an ex-smoker: QuitNow gives you a list of health indicators that explain how your body improves day by day. These indicators are based on information from the World Health Organization, and we update them as soon as the WHO releases new data.

Additionally, there are more sections in the preferences screen that can support you on your quitting journey.

šŸ™‹ Frequently Asked Questions: We’ve compiled some tips for quitting smoking, but honestly, we weren’t sure where to place them. Most people looking to quit seek advice online, and there’s a lot of misleading information out there. We researched the archives of the World Health Organization to find studies they’ve conducted and their conclusions. In the Frequently Asked Questions section, you’ll find answers to all your queries about quitting smoking.

šŸ¤– The QuitNow AI: Occasionally, you might have unusual questions that don’t appear in the FAQ. In those cases, feel free to ask the AI: we've trained it to respond to those quirky inquiries. If it doesn’t have a good answer, it will reach out to the QuitNow team, who will update their knowledge base so it can provide better responses in the future. By the way, yes: all of the AI’s answers are sourced from WHO archives, just like the tips in the FAQ.

šŸ“š Books to quit smoking: Familiarizing yourself with techniques for quitting smoking can make the process easier. There’s always someone talking about books in the chat, so we did some research to find out which ones are the most popular and which can genuinely help you quit for good.

⌚ Also on your watch: QuitNow's Wear OS app and tiles let you track your progress, see how much you've saved, and check your smoke-free stats right from your wrist.

Do you have any suggestions to make QuitNow even better? If so, please reach out to us at android@quitnow.app.

App is great. Clear, concise, and easy to set up. My only problem is that the widget doesn't sync with the app so the statistics remain static. I'd like to be able to see on my home screen how I'm doing and I have to remove the widget and add it again to get an updated total. Apparently it's a battery saving issue in Samsung. The problem is resolved and the developers are SUPER responsive and friendly.

Hello Mirena! Some Samsung phones (like mine and it seems that yours) have an automatic battery saver that puts the app in battery save mode the first time you don't open the app for three days. Put QuitNow! in the whitelist and the widget will work as usual. Write us to android@fewlaps.com for a longer explanation. Thanks for the feedback! 😊

Probably the best quit smoking app on Android. The widget could get some work though because it takes extra unecessary space on the home screen by having paddings on all its sides making it not consistent with the other widgets. It doesn't affect functionality but messes with the aesthetics of the home screen.

Original 2016: This has helped me visualize the gains I've made while quiting smoking. Started with the free app but for all the help this app has given me and the money I've saved not smoking, the least I could do was upgrade. Thanks a million! EDIT: 2023 and I'm finally 3 years quit smoking. I kept trying to it stuck and this app was with me there whole time. Don't quit quitting and find what works for you.
