It's a decent app, especially for learning kanji and vocab. My only criticism is that they don't offer a membership option that goes month to month, you are forced to choose between a 1 year or 3 year membership plan, shelling out more upfront cash. I would actually subscribe if there were an option with less of an upfront cost, but due to the restrictive subscription model, unfprtunately I wont be subscribing.

Would be nice to have a free version with ads. Also would be nice not to have to create an account just to use it. Could be 5 stars. But since I can not try it further, I can not rate it any higher. Edit: I appreciate the incentive of a discount (10%?). However I meant this for everyone as well. Ads would allow anyone to learn from it while you are constantly receiving profits from it. Provided you do not go over board with ads, everyone should win. And obviously people will still pay for no ad

The simple, fun interface and great core features make this app a delight to use. The automatic spaced repetition of learned words is great, and I love being made to use / see them in context. That said there are some major bugs. If you accidentally navigate out of learning in Golden Time, it does not save your review progress and it automatically processes all remaining words as failures. Same goes if you restart the app or switch apps. Also sometimes it says you're incorrect, when you're not:
