About this game

The ultimate rhythm training app for musicians. Learn to read, recognize, tap and write rhythms from simplest to most advanced. Rhythm is one of the most important aspects of music and one that every musician should become proficient with. Designed like a video game and with strong pedagogical concepts in mind, this app will make you master rhythm while rendering the learning process enjoyable.

Features

• 252 progressive drills arranged over 4 levels / 30 chapters
• Extensive content: from simple time signatures to compound and asymmetric time signatures, from half notes and crotchets to demisemiquavers, triplets, swing quavers, double dotted notes, quintuplets, ...
• 5 drill types: rhythm imitation drills, rhythm reading drills, rhythm dictations, two-voice reading drills and two-voice dictations
• Play a selection of 11 drills in arcade mode
• Play and practice polyrhythms in a dedicated polyrhythm section

This app is EVERYTHING you will need to learn how to read rhythm, and my favorite thing about it is how much there is to help you learn ADVANCED rhythms! Now, it's not perfect, but I have yet to encounter a perfect app in my life. It still gets 5 stars to me because it has so many useful features I would have never thought of adding. And for a one-time purchase?? It blows other apps that charge monthly out of the water! (Btw I promise I wasn't paid to say this lol)

Excellent app with an attractive interface and useful drills - imitation, transcription, reading. Options for percussion or legato (piano or guitar) instrument so you can work on rests too. One star off because once a drill is over, it immediately disappears and your score is displayed. Therefore, you can't review your drill to see what you missed in order to focus on that element. Without the ability to review what you've done, it's not really a learning tool. Still useful for what it is.

Thank you for your feedback. In imitation and dictation drills it doesn't go automatically to the score screen, and for reading drills, if you make mistakes you have the option to create a custom drill with the exact same questions to practice it again. Hope this helps, best, Stéphane.

I have used a few different rhythm apps to help with my sight reading. Rhythm is surprisingly overlooked as important when sight reading, but it's arguably more important than the notes. Some will notice if you play a "wrong" note, but everyone will notice if you're not playing in time. Complete Rhythm Trainer is the pinnacle. In addition to the randomized baked-in reading exercises, you can (paid version) make your own custom exercises to really drill into your weak spots.
