It's a nice looking app. but it needs more controls. there should be a proper "bedtime" or "clock only" mode that basically stops kids from turning stories back on in the middle of the night. I will set a 15min countdown timer, which stops playback. they just reinsert the card and carry on!! a gradual volume fade wouldn't go amiss either. Podcasts also need sorting, they never play for more than 2 minutes before randomly stopping.
Hi Alex - the best way to influence the product is to contribute to or vote on ideas on our community site at https://yoto.space . We listen and make changes based on what will make the biggest impact to the most. Podcasts are streamed content, if they stop that would point to network bandwidth or the player is too far from your router.

We love our Yotos, and theoretically it is nice being able to play our content on the app and not just on the Yoto. But in practice, the app has always had issues. The biggest issue currently (spring '25) and that the app doesn't do pausing very well. much of the time, after pausing, it won't respond to trying to play again.
Sorry to hear that Abigail! Are you talking about pausing content playing in the app or passing content playing on the player? Please feel free to reach out to me personally ed@yotoplay.com to help.

Controlling the yoto box from the app can be a bit glitchy, which is a big problem when the audience is a temperamental toddler. 1) A new card always skips a little when selected, repeating the first 2 seconds or so. 2) Volume control by sliding with no visual distinction between volume levels is bad UI, having up/down buttons would help greatly. 3) occasionally the box gets hung up on the current card, and won't when a new card is selected until the current is manually stopped.
