The official app for BIKETOWN, Portland’s bike share system.
BIKETOWN consists of a fleet of specially designed, sturdy and durable electric bikes that can be locked at any BIKETOWN station or bike rack throughout the city. Bike share is a greener, healthier way to get around — whether you’re commuting, running errands, meeting friends, or exploring in a new city.
The BIKETOWN App gives you access to hundreds of bikes in your area — unlock and pay directly from the app and get going.
The BIKETOWN App also shows upcoming public transit departures, including train lines, local buses, and streetcars.
Within the app, you can either purchase an annual BIKETOWN membership or single rides.

too expensive. the amount they charge for an hour of riding is equal to a turo car rental for an entire day. Let alone I had to stop 20 blocks short of my destination because the service area isn't even available. Makes no sense at all. I had to backpedal 10 blocks because the service area to my house didn't even reach, which used another 3-4 minutes of time. I tried to check the service area before I started my ride too see if it was worth riding.. Wasn't available. Terrible.

GREAT for cheaply commuting and, if needed, getting a start towards being more active. Newer bikes (grey large frames) are a HUGE step up. Black format "old bikes" definitely look better during the day- be careful at night (they DO have a flashing tail light but..... just be wary of others quite possibly not being aware of you).

Used service. Forgot to change it in the app when I canceled my debit card on file. Ride using the app. Oh no now I have a $5 deficit. Go to add money to my account using a new card. Error you cannot add funds to your account when you have an unpaid bill. They literally won't let me pay the money I owe them, so now I'm locked out of the service. Everything else was absolutely perfect up until this.
