The auto subtitles are extremely accurate, no complaints there. For the actual shadowing function of the app, there is so much starting lag in the audio for some reason that either I'm waiting for the audio to start when I've already started the shadow recording or I try to record myself while missing the first part. I also want to be able to play my recording back overlaid with the original, but the syncing is extremely awkward. I would pay otherwise.

Thanks for your feedback! The Echo mode has two options: Auto Echo and Manual. You can tap “Auto Echo” on the far left of the microphone to avoid the hassle of manual control.

Thank you for making such an excellent app! I found it via Amber L's youtube channel and downloaded it right away. The echo function is perfect, and I see myself using it to practice every day. For some reason, the recorded volume is very low (lower than other recording apps on my phone). But it's a minor issue and it just helps me practice speaking up! 5 stars :)

Overall, excellent app! Transcribing from local audio files is super fast, very accurate. Playback likewise very accurate in matching Chinese character cursor to audio. A few minor hiccups when I started, but Kevin fixed and replied almost immediately (ty) I haven't tried using miraa for imitate and compare. Not sure any app is useful for that learning method (Chinese tone differences are too subtle). But for training your ear to recognize characters from audio, it's excellent!
