About this app

From the world-renowned Monroe Institute, access profound states of expanded awareness normally attained after years of dedicated practice to foster greater meaning and purpose, relieve stress, improve sleep, and release unwanted patterns. The guided meditations in Expand feature Monroe Sound Science, our proprietary audio technology that uses targeted soundwave patterns to facilitate unique states of consciousness. Using Expand, you can access the profound wisdom and joy buried deep within your conscious and subconscious minds.

Expand features 100+ guided meditations, along with multi-day mini-courses, guided reflection and journaling, and custom-generated soundscapes that target specific brainwave states. Far from typical meditations that focus on simply clearing your mind of thoughts, Expand meditations encourage active imagination and perception to achieve specific results. Meditation topics include:

- Relaxation & Healing
- Joy & Meaning
- Insight and Intuition
- Sleep & Dreaming
- Nurturing Healthy Relationships
- Creativity & Manifestation
- Beyond the Physical

Expand was developed by the Monroe Institute, the world’s foremost center for the study and practice of expanded consciousness. I'm sure it's great in some ways. I did a couple of meditations and they were nice. I don't find the search feature useful at all, which makes the app difficult to use. Coming from the Gateway Experience tapes, I searched for "focus 11," "human plus," "h-plus," and finally just simply "manifestation," which is one of their categories. All came back with zero results

Would be immediately more valuable if signals weren't limited to 2 hours (unlimited would be ideal). All background soundscapes have noticeable loop points which become distracting. These need to be remade properly, fully recorded. For me, the new signals don't work at all compared to the original more basic tapes and with Robert's guidance. Not sure if that means what I think it means. There's a lot that needs to be improved in order for them to justify charging this much per month or year.

I'm glad you brought this up - this is actually the next major release - we are hoping it will be within the next 30 to 60 days that we'll have brand new time audio and unlimited length options. Right now, all of the timer signals are actually the original binaural signals - and the other meditations are a mix of old and new.

Looks good so far just got the full version today. But when I click on the timer at bottom right and choose any of the tracks, be it sleep, focus, focus 10, 12, 18, etc. And no accompanying background music, the hemi-sync/binaural beats are all exactly the same??? Shouldn't they be different based on which focus level you're listening to, to get the desired brain wave pattern??

The signals are all different - however, they are all embedded in the same 'background' which on the 'no background' is not actually 'no background' - the 'no background audio' still uses a white noise pad to mask the signals, as the sound of the pure signals can be quite abrasive and are harder to listen to on their own.

What’s new

Streaks now reset properly to zero when lost. The meditation timer remembers your last signal and music settings. We also added support for displaying music info during sessions. Dashboard UI improvements make longer meditation names easier to read.
